Atiku, Ganduje not planning new party — Hanga

JOHN ALECHENU

A stalwart of the All Progressives Congress in Kano State, Senator Rufai Hanga, has dismisseda  claim that former Vice-President Atiku Abubakar and the Kano State Governor, Abdullahi Ganduje, are plotting to float a new political party.

Hanga, who is a foundation member of the APC, said this in an interview with journalists in Abuja, on Saturday.

This is even as the Atiku Media Office dismissed reports linking the former vice president to the formation of a new party, saying it was political mischief, which was destined to fail.

Hanga spoke against the backdrop of allegations by a group loyal to former Kano State Governor, Senator Rabiu Kwankwaso, that Atiku and Ganduje were working alongside others to form a new political party ahead of the 2019 election.

The former federal legislator said Kwankwaso and his allies should stop dragging the names of the two party leaders into their desperate bid to seek relevance.

Hanga described claims by the Kwankwaso group “as the figment of the imagination of its purveyors.”
