For most people in the entertainment industry, their parents did not initially agree with their choice of profession. But the story is different for Michael Ozazomaro Benin aka Page who says his father was the major inspiration for his music career. He told Saturday Beats, “My major inspiration for doing music is God and my dad. My father was a disc jockey back then when I was small, so I used to go to his studio to listen to music a lot and whenever he came home, he always played some old music tunes. He also worked at Radio Nigeria with the name DJ JSP, and listening to him on air inspired me a lot.”

Speaking on his latest single, ‘All Night Long’ on which he featured Ice Prince, the Delta State-born singer said, “Lionel Richie inspired my new single and I believe I’m about to take over the music industry with it. I decided to feature Ice Prince because I admire him so much and I reasoned that he would bring the kind of vibe I want to the song and that’s what he did. The response to the song has been massive as people know good music when they hear it.”

On how he began his music career, Page said, “I started by being an instrumentalist in church after which I joined the choir as a lead appraisal but I started music professionally in 2012. I define my style of music as Afro pop and dance. I basically make music for everybody.”

Sharing his most memorable experience as an artiste, the final year Political Science student of the Lagos State University said, “That was when I watched my dedication in church as a baby and my pastor prophesied that I was going to be a great musician when I grow up. I can never forget that moment and that’s what keeps me going; I have never thought about giving up.”
