One area where technology has been employed to improve the quality of a product is in the automobile industry. We now have self-driven cars rolling out of the factory lines of Tesla, for instance.

Technology is changing fast and what one sees today as new innovation becomes obsolete tomorrow when another one surfaces to disrupt or displace it. Car manufacturers across the world are constantly upgrading their products with new technologies.

Some of these upgrades can be witnessed in the areas of safety, entertainment, functionality or simply for style. It is therefore pertinent to stress that many of the new technologies for upgrades on cars are either specifically built for safety or for convenience and leisure.

Many of these new technologies on cars are either meant for the use of the drivers exclusively or the passengers exclusively or for both. Car users may, however, carry out upgrades on their cars by installing them with tech components available in the market.

Below are five tech components that will help you to upgrade your car, maybe not exactly like the new models, but these will surely enhance your driving experience and sort of improve safety and convenience to a certain degree.

  1. Satellite Navigation System Installation

You can fit your car with a satellite navigation system. This will assist you in navigating your way through areas that you are not familiar with. They come in various sizes and shapes, depending on the manufacturer.

Some satellite navigation system devices need to be updated to add new route options as well as map displays so that the device will work more efficiently and at a faster rate. You can also go for a satellite navigation system that will show you live traffic updates, speed camera locations, and known crash hot spots and hazard areas.

  1. Mobile Phone Holder

Fatal accidents are known to result when the driver of a car starts to look for their phone when it rings while driving instead of concentrating on driving. There have been reported cases of accidents happening just because a driver bends down to look at his phone or tries to pick a fallen phone.

To prevent such accidents, a driver can install a mobile phone holder that will be placed on the dashboard of the car. This will, definitely, help in preventing accidents which can occur when the driver is distracted by looking around for their phone.

It is suggested that you consider getting one with a strong suction cup for proper mounting on the dashboard of the car. The mobile holder should have anti-slip foam edges to prevent the phone from falling off the holder.

  1. Parking Sensors

Parking sensors can also be fitted on your car. This is one of the safety tech components that can be fitted on your car. It helps in saving lives of people when you are blind-sided while you are reversing your car. It can also prevent you from hitting an unseen object behind you as the device starts blinking the red light or beeping sounds when approaching an object that might damage the car.

  1. In-car Bluetooth Device

Most new model cars today come with Bluetooth hands-free phone support. If your car, however, does not come with a Bluetooth hands-free phone support, you can easily upgrade on your car. You might need to get an in-car Bluetooth device installed.

This will enable you to easily transmit music and phone calls from your phone through the car’s speakers and this actually frees you from having to look for your phone while driving. This will enable you to drive your car around with more focus and less distraction.

More recent ones actually come with voice command support; thus, further enhancing your in-car experience. You can get a very good quality in-car Bluetooth device that will allow you to pair up to two mobile phones and give you a talk time of more than 12 hours.

  1. Headrest Mounted Bar Tablet Holder

This is one new tech component that is for the pleasure of the passengers at the back seat of the car and not for the driver’s pleasure. You can get a tablet holder and actually transform your car to an in-car cinema for the pleasure of the back seat passengers, especially, if a good Bluetooth boom speaker is paired alongside it.

A good holder should be able to rotate 360 degrees with the tilt mounting bracket, which means that the car back seat passengers can actually change positions and yet be able to watch movies or play games while in the car.

It is not that this entertainment device cannot be fitted in the front of your car but it is not advisable to do that because the driver may be distracted if he watches the movies being played and very serious accidents can occur therefrom.

In this regard, if you have an old tablet that is in good order but you no longer have any other use for; you can convert it to an in-car entertainment device for the back seat passengers.

Remember, you should control technology and not the other way round. So, ensure that none of these tools get in your way while driving. Installing these tech components will help in giving you a more enjoyable driving experience as well as also improve your productivity.
