[PHOTOS] 24-year-old parliamentarian shares how she ran as independent candidate to beat powerful opponent

Cynthia Jepkosgei Muge has become the talk of the town after flooring a powerful Jubilee (party) candidate to clinch the Kilibwoni Ward MCA seat in Kenya.

Cynthia, who is a student at the University of Nairobi, explains how she missed out on the Jubilee nomination because she could not afford the cost of party nomination.

She, however, managed to win on an independent ticket, defeating Jubilee’s Emmanuel Kipchumba.

“I took a chance as an independent candidate and won after a difficult penniless campaign,” said Cynthia.

Cynthia Jepkosgei has Bachelor’s degree in Planning, City/Urban, Community and Regional Planning and believes that urban and regional planning is one field that has a great impact in a city.
