The Nigerian Institute of Quantity Surveyors has listed Vice President Yemi Osinbajo to lead other government officials to its 27th biennial conference and general meeting.
According to the institute, the conference with the theme, ‘Developing the economy for sustainable growth – The construction industry as an effective stimulant’, will hold in Abuja from November 14 to 18.
The institute said in a statement, “The international event, which shall be declared open by the Vice President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Prof. Yemi Osibajo, SAN, shall be graced by resource persons and participants from within and outside the country, particularly the member nations of the African Association of Quantity Surveyors as well as professionals from the construction and real estate industry, banking, insurance, captains of industry, government officials, as well as the general public.
“Construction, being a viable vehicle for reviving a recessed economy, the conference will undoubtedly open a new vista and way forward out of the ongoing economic malaise in the country, as various policy thrusts shall be developed through the discourse.”
According to the institute, the grand finale of the weeklong event will be the investiture of the new executive council and exchange of baton as the first female president of the NIQS, Mrs. Mercy Iyortyer, will hand over to her successor, Mr. Obafemi Onashile.
